Safed's Tourist Information Center is located on Alkebetz Street , below the Ari Ashkanazi Synagogue, between the Kosov and Abuhav synagogues.
It is sponsored by Safed's Partnership 2000 community, the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach FL and is activities are coordinated by the Livnot U'Lehibanot Israel Experience Program.
Visitors to Safed are welcome to walk in to read the wall posters which detail the history of Safed, and a second exhibition which relates the story of the War of Independence in Safed.
Maps, guidebooks, pamphlets and information about attractions throughout the North are available, as well as explanations and instructions for planning a visit.
A 10-minute movie is available for viewing in Hebrew, English or French, describing the history of Safed from the time of the Spanish Inquisition through modern times. A small memorial wall is dedicated to the children of Safed who were murdered in Ma'alot in 1973.
